Tours
Random observations and photos
It rained almost every day in Tours. But we got out for a lot of walks and Don managed to squeeze in a bike ride along the Loire, toward Vouvray.
Housing is scattershot, with decent-looking apartments squeezed in among 500-year-old timber-framed houses. There’s a ton of work being done on streets and one commercial businesses. Still, we were worried about the number of shuttered stores.
Then we discovered the district just south of the main downtown around Place Jean Jaurès, in the vicinity of City Hall (Hotel de Ville) and the courthouse. It’s fairly modern with good streets and lots of cafes.
This section, along with adjoining Blvd. Beranger, could be our neighborhood.
