Gorgeous pictures (as usual!) thank you. I so appreciate all the true life details. I'm outlining my trip to France next year - my retirement gift to myself - and Brittany is definitely on the list. I also have travelled to other places, but not the West coast.
Yes, we have - and we loved it. I just didn't have any decent photos to share. Theresa read the novel... we both saw the TV series and didn't much like it.
Great shots! Theresa and I enjoyed showing you around Lamballe. Brittany is full of surprises. May I suggest you two put the D786 on your planning board - St. Brieuc to Erquy, Cap d'Erquy, all the way to the lighthouse at the northern tip - Phare du cap Fréhel. On to one of France's finest maritime museums, Centre Nautique de Saint-Cast. Saint-Briac-sur-Mer is a delight - we went to a classic car gathering there this past New Year's Eve day.... Spend a couple days and end up in St. Malo, the pirate city. I'm headed to St. Malo next week to return the 5G box that I got while waiting for Orange to hook up our fiber. Here's a nice guide to OUR Cotes d'Armor - https://www.francethisway.com/regions/cotes-d-armor.php
I have yet to visit Brittany. You make it look and sound inviting. One of my fave French writers, Madame de Sévigné, spent a lot of time there, so I really should make the effort.
Wow--another great post, and as many have already said, it allows me to travel vicariously. It is simply wonderful that you have been exploring this region in all its diversity and similarities.

So much fun visiting Brittany vicariously through your eyes! What beautiful towns and scenery! We must return!
Have you been to St. Malo yet? I just finished reading "All the Light We Cannot See," so I had to ask.

As always an interesting and instructive post.
Can't wait to see some of these areas this spring!
