Superb. So glad you got a taste of home. I saw the Phanatic do that guard bit after delivering tea to the TV announcers and he committed to it. At least five minutes of...nothing. I never thought he could make me laugh by doing nothing! Your post made me think of a time Glenn and I saw a game in Oakland (1989). Two guys sitting next to us had sushi delivered to their seats. Talk about whatdefuq?!
What a great post! You capture our love of Philly so well, Theresa. (I love your remark about not missing speaking English but rather miss speaking Philadelphian.)
I'm sorry we missed you all! Mike and I were there both games (but sitting in the grew-up-in-North-Jersey section). Would have been awesome to run into you at the Pimm's Cup counter.
I'm visiting America and close to the end of my trip, but be watched both games on TV here and it made me a little bit nostalgic for suburban Philly life. My visit to the PMA for the Cassett exhibit made me miss my Paris home. Then we switched to the World Cup of Cricket followed to European football for a reminder of my life across the ocean. My middle child is playing on is company's cricket team (his colleagues in a tech company has enough to southeast Asian workers to field several treams.) It really is turning into a global field of dreams...
So glad that you got to go to this game and be amongst your peeps and feel at home. Dropping names here but my sis got to deliver three Philly Phanatic babies many moons ago. And my friend is married to him (she has less fur).
That was a great article. I can tell that your love for writing is beyond any words that I can express that was beautiful. I do miss both of you and I hope you’re doing well. Love you.

Oh no!! Sorry we didn’t see you.
What a shame.
You can’t take the Philly out no matter where you live!! It is in your DNA! Glad you were able to get a taste of home for a few hours.
Philly misses you, too! Great story. xo

Please tell the Phanatic family how much I appreciate them!!
I had completely forgotten about the MAC machine! Made me giggle reading this…
