Fantastic ideas! Reading your post put a smile on my face and gives me hope that people's voices can be heard. Certainly not in the USA with rump and muskrat trying to destroy our democracy, our livelihoods, and our international relationships. I'm looking forward to participating in a protest here in Pittsburgh, just one of many happening throughout the nation tomorrow. I am so excited to be coming to France in September and hope to experience some of the things that Rennes voters have chosen!
“I don’t want to abolish government. I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub.” Grover Norquist. During the height of Reaganomics. We've reached the apotheosis of the Republican project. Just didn't see being Russia's bitch as part of the package.
Gotta love those hedgehogs! We do not have this in DC, but we do have budget hearings where residents can testify--and there are definitely ideas launched. I have not found these hearings boring because we have a whole roster of individuals and organizations speaking up and making their thoughts and preferences known (though only a very small percentage of ideas are adopted).
This is fantastic. While Trump, Musk et al are blasting holes in the Constitution that their fellow rats can run through, Rennes is allowing democracy to flourish granularly. Bravo!! Like one of your other readers, I will be at a rally today in Doylestown trying to stem the stream of idiotic, hateful actions taking place here.

Glad to hear about your activism. It's the only answer to all of this insanity at this moment.
I look forward to your posts - sometimes whiskey, sometimes throwback to the city we love/hate - mostly love - and beer

Wonderful! I suppose the equivalent in New York City would be rat passages.
